The city centre can be reached from the airport via the 100 bus or using the tram service.

All major train and coach networks also include routes to Edinburgh. Trains arrive at Edinburgh Waverley Station in the city centre and coaches arrive at St Andrews Square Bus Station, also in the city centre.

Getting to the University of Glasgow

Glasgow International Airport offers routes to major cities in Europe, the UK, North America and the Middle East. There is a bus service (747) that runs from the airport to a stop close to the University (7 miles away).

Edinburgh International Airport could also be used (42 miles away from the University). There is a bus service (Citylink Air) to the main bus station in Glasgow at Buchanan Street.

The Buchanan Bus Station is also the main stop for many coaches from numerous towns and cities across the UK.

A subway runs from a stop close to the bus station to a stop close to the main university campus at Hillhead.

Intercity links Glasgow to major destinations in the UK. The train will stop at either Glasgow Queen Street or Glasgow Central. These are each served by a subway stop (Buchanan Street and St Enoch Street, respectively).

There are regular airport buses from Glasgow International into Glasgow city centre.

There are also many rail and coach links to Glasgow from other UK cities. For example, there is a direct GNER link from Edinburgh Waverley and London King’s Cross to Glasgow Central Station. Most coaches stop at Buchanan Street bus and coach station.

You can use the Glasgow underground railway to reach the John Anderson Campus of the University. The nearest stop is Buchanan Street. A train also runs from just outside the John Anderson Campus (High Street) to the Jordanhill Campus.

The closest airport to St Andrews is Edinburgh International. You can reach St Andrews from the airport by taking the Airlink bus to the centre of Edinburgh and then the train to Leuchars.

Leuchars train station is 6 miles outside of St Andrews. A taxi rank is available close to the station.

One of the best transport solutions in the area is to travel by bus. You can catch a bus from Leuchars to St Andrews bus station, using service numbers X99A/B/C/D or 92.

Aberdeen’s international airport offer routes throughout the UK and Europe. You can reach Aberdeen City Centre by taking a bus from outside the terminal to Aberdeen Bus Station (Jet Service 727).

Aberdeen is also linked to other major UK destinations by coach and train. The coach/ bus and train station are beside each other, next to Union Square Shopping Centre in the city centre.

To get from the city centre to the Old Aberdeen Campus or Hillhead Halls of Residence you can take bus no. 20 from Littlejohn Street. Note that Aberdeen buses require correct change.

To reach the Foresterhill Campus from the city centre, take bus no. 5/5A from Union Street, leaving the bus at Cornhill Road. Or, bus no. 59 will take you to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
